There is something I've failed to understand since the beginning of Gantz E. I thought the suits and all were made based on the technology that all knowing alien sent to earth. It was the daughter of that rich german guy who received the alien's transmissions and then her father came up with the score system and all. So how does this all exist in the Edo Period already? Am I missing something or do I just think too much about it?

No you’re right, based on the origins of Gantz in the main series, this makes no sense lol.

not to mention the kannon being so absurdly op compared to the og one, it all gives off that weird fanfic vibe.

I’m also confused by another thing: wasn’t cutting the kannon previously shown to just resulting in the cut parts growing into full kannon, leading to multiple clones? So the strategy seemed to absolutely avoid cutting him, but thay’s exactly whay they’ve been doing in this chapter and it… seems to work, somehow. This fight is both insanely slow paced and all over the place with the rules of the kannon’s power.

Thanks for clarifying it. I've never seen someone critic that so I wasn't sure if I remember right. I really love the Gantz Manga but Ganz E just doesn't do that for me. It feels like a rehash of the popular scenes from the main series. The Kannon fight here is like a mix of the Osaka arc and the original Kannon arc. And like you said, it's power doesn't make any sense. I keep reading for the entertainment and the good art but I wish they put a bit more thought into it.

yeah, between the elite weapons & armor of Gantz combined with the endlessly regenerating 100 pointer that kills off every single elite leaving only the main newbies, the heavy « inspiration » on Nurari is very obvious.

all that aside, Gantz E has some of the most awful pacing I’ve ever seen. It it will spam very similar spreads depicting the same thing, the progression of each chapter is ridiculously small. To some extent, Oku also did that kind of slow pacing, but this is next level lmao. There is nothing to say about the last dozen of chapters beyond « they’re trying to kill the smug kannon and nothing works ».

at least Nurari had very fundamentally different transformations, and it made sense: he’ll simply adapt to whatever he’s facing, and going at him solo like the Osaka guys does makes it impossible to kill him, which made sense why the weaker main team ends up winning.

Finally finished it hopefully. The fight was a big mistake. Introducing an enemy at the start that is way stronger than the strongest in the OG just leads to a contest between them it can only lose. Also the alien here should realistically still regenerate again as he did multiple times before for no reason.
