Thanks for clarifying it. I've never seen someone critic that so I wasn't sure if I remember right. I really love the Gantz Manga but Ganz E just doesn't do that for me. It feels like a rehash of the popular scenes from the main series. The Kannon fight here is like a mix of the Osaka arc and the original Kannon arc. And like you said, it's power doesn't make any sense. I keep reading for the entertainment and the good art but I wish they put a bit more thought into it.
yeah, between the elite weapons & armor of Gantz combined with the endlessly regenerating 100 pointer that kills off every single elite leaving only the main newbies, the heavy « inspiration » on Nurari is very obvious.
all that aside, Gantz E has some of the most awful pacing I’ve ever seen. It it will spam very similar spreads depicting the same thing, the progression of each chapter is ridiculously small. To some extent, Oku also did that kind of slow pacing, but this is next level lmao. There is nothing to say about the last dozen of chapters beyond « they’re trying to kill the smug kannon and nothing works ».
at least Nurari had very fundamentally different transformations, and it made sense: he’ll simply adapt to whatever he’s facing, and going at him solo like the Osaka guys does makes it impossible to kill him, which made sense why the weaker main team ends up winning.
