Not really liking it when spin offs interfere with the original story. It always comes of to me as "Hey you remember Kurono and Reika? Cool they're back right?" I'd rather the new characters make a name of themselves instead of this.

Oku knows exactly how popular Reika is. He talked about it on Twitter how she's more polular than Kurono or Kato. In fact, the only reason he brought Nishi back into the story was because he was really popular back then. So I wouldn't put it past him to make all that up to bring her back into the story.

But for now I'll let him cook. Maybe he does something interesting with this twist so I don't want to be too negative now.

I'm not vibing with this anymore. This would mean that the original Gantz readers will get a remix of the past with similar outcomes... I really hope the Edo team doesn't tag along. So it might be bad news for us original readers
However, for new readers, this is great news - it seems you have absolutely nothing to worry about regarding not having read the original judging from this chapter

I wonder what the impact of this time travel that the Edo team did will be and how the Tokyo team will be affected considering the events of the original manga.

1. Due to Sutezo saving her, Reika probably won't have 100 points and won't be able to revive Tae for Kurono;
2. Depending on how much the Edo team contributes to this mission, it is very likely that the Tokyo team will not get points to revive Tae, Kato, Nishi and Sakurai as happened in the original manga.
3. It is very possible that Kurono will have to use his points to revive Tae or Kato rather than choosing to be free here.

I would not call it a retconning.
What we see in the original gantz is something that happened when the gantz ball wasn't sent in the past.
Basically we have the original gantz timeline, somewhere a gantz ball with time travel abilities get sent into the past. And then from this future past the EDO gantz are sent into the future future that is after the events of gantz.
Yeah, it's kind of confusing.

TL;DR:
Take it as parallel universes or different timelines. Nothing from the original gantz get invalidated. It all happened in a different future past.
