I mean I've been saying this is the point of the manga, anthropocentrism is a disease. Ofc, as someone else stated, the aliens view themselves as higher life forms which just goes to show, any level of technological society needs stratification to remain cohesive. The higher your technology, the closer you view urself to God. But the closer you get to "God" the more your ego distorts your mind.
