Is it just me, or is the layout for this comic kinda bad? I'm having a hard time following who is saying what.
It's made worse by the fact that everyone seems to speak the same, there's nothing differentiating them by the language - for example, in ch.2 the fmc and mc both said 'bye-bye' to each other; you wouldn't expect the mc to say bye-bye, which seems overly casual, but he did (though this may be a translation thing, not to throw the translators under the bus).

The MC also seems to jump from being confident to shy and weak every given scenario. He's inconsistent.

He has way more social leverage than he thinks he basically can hold everyone by the balls because they all mostly rely on his notes because they are easy to understand

Setting up that detail of his friend peddling his notes throughout the class prior to this chapter actually ended up amounting to something interesting lol. I completely forgot that was a thing before he brought it up here.

This would've typically been a stupid conversation where she can out-popular a character like him into shutting down, so this was nice. I also like the the MC actually pointing out how (potentially) making the blonde's crush give up on the FMC wouldn't magically make him start liking her. Manga/anime loves to lean on that trope, and it's just not how feelings work.

I think she was pissed at him putting himself in hate way by the noteclear declaration, I did expect one of the two to come up with the notes as a reason for the meet-up, she was put in a spot and was unable to think clearly, or did not want to trouble him with a half baked lie and was stun locked from the rapid fire.
She needing academy help was a perfect excuse, wanting to keep it on the down low for her popularity works too, no one can say anyhting about it.
The gal was a bit dumb, if she thought the two were together and hiding it she should have proved it beforehand with pics instead of starting things in class without proof to spread the rumor she had a guy and hope her crush stopped being interested, hell, spreading pics of the 2 on the school social would have been more effective than becoming a heel in class.
MC and FMC talking in the library shouldn't create any new problem, everyone now thinks he is helping her with the studies, and they are just doing it openly instead of hiding it as the secret is out.
