Because then it would be seen as the JSDF defeating Zoral and not Pina, which would greatly weaken her status as the new Emperess and invite more rebellions to take place while Japan is gone.

If "fantasy" Roman armies are your thing, I suggest reading Codex Alera (written by Jim Butcher of Dresden Files). Yes it's a book. Yes it's better written. 😛
Funnily enough, it probably counts as isekai since the Lost Roman Legion was isekaid and the characters are their descendants centuries later.

The light novel for JSDF's activity in that world is already over. The author already started his work on JMSDF, Japan's Self Defense Navy. The sequel to this. New characters, new modus operandi, and new location on that other world. Afai can tell, it involves
