How come this series is still going strong? Well, for the manga adaptation anyway. Last I heard, while the original novel already finished, and a Sequel focusing on a new settings and casts featuring JMSDF/Japan Maritime Self Defense Force/Japan's Acting Naval Force and a submarine was underway, the high nationalistic tone of the series did not sit well with some audience of the series. I would have thought the series would sputter and died off after S2 of the anime.

I can't believe that things aren't completely pulled off the trucks and fully inspected on both ends of the gate. Even if they ran stuff through standard TSA style X-Ray machines they would have seen her in the box. Also the foreign alliance is making a huge mistake trying to forcibly control a magician to open gates. Not only could she probably wipe them out solo before they could respond, she could also open a gate back to the xenomorph world.
