I just checked the raws to see what that mistranslation of "Dame" originally meant, and I figured it out immediately. The word that was used is 「テイム」, which means "Tame". That confirms it for me now. This guy is 100 per cent using MTL. There's no way a JTL worth their salt wouldn't be able to read a katakana word as simple as that... It's not even a kanji or kanji compound word lmao. 🤣🤣
Here's the correct translation: "Despite being given the useless/worthless skill of 'Tame',"

Yeah, the MTL somehow tends to put a 'tenten' or at least thinks the 'Te' has a tenten on it, modifying the Te into De.
But it's funny because this could easily be corrected by proper proofreading, and actual basic knowledge of Japanese language by anyone claiming to run a website which has manga translated supposedly in-house into English.
