I read the raw for chapter 4 and realize that he probably didn't do that but what he's gonna do is arguably much worse.

lol. I bet he's had to do and break three(3) taboos at once:
- 1) bed the child who is still too young to be anywhere near that sh!t
- 2) have her kill her siblings after all of the other kids reach level 3
- 3) have the mother rabbit kill the only remaining child with rare skill, to be absorbed by the mother
After reading the translated chapter 4, I wanna be a little bit more optimistic since...
He gave them the order to avoid fatality and the assailant did mention she's gonna crush their heads after she's done with the Dungeon Master. I really hope that they were just heavily injured and not dead, which means they can recover.

Read the novella forward. Once a new party of adventurers gets into the dungeon it gets really dumb.
The mage girl betrays the group and they agree to stay in the dungeon for the sake of a safe life (?).... It's just crazy logic. Another ninja girl decides to become a monster (arachna), and the guy is turned into a girl and used to breed slimes. And the magician girl says that in the future they will leave the dungeon so the three of them can live happily ever after. It's a load of nonsense.

I couldn't bear to read it for long. Overall, the novella is relatively short and permeated with depression.
I skipped to the end, and there he simply dies with Sophia, and their souls leave “this cruel world” for a better place. The author wants to convey that this fantasy world is messy and that this is a good outcome.
