Honestly though, outside of Ctesias of Cnidus who is the first to write about them as an actual real world animal (he was a historian, physician and natural biologist) everything following is just fanfiction based on his works. He can't even be taken seriously as he made up so much shit that his accounts from when he served in the courts of the Persian king Artaxerxes II have been called into question a lot.
