Thanks for the TL

No it's not normal.
Sure, some people will be dumb and do that.
But there is no reasons to antagonize someone who didn't do anything wrong to you, was helpful and will surely be even more helpful later...

People who does that are a minority.

Lets see. If such people are minority, then why are such situations are always in the media, be it books, movies, comics and mangas, video games and folk stories, sayings like “nail that stick out gets hammered down” and so forth? Does it mean everyone is just up for the drama through out the history?

Also, your naïvete in your comment tells me that you personally never experienced raise to the prominence (read; being recognizable force in your field). Or it is just pure ignorance. Or playing blue troll in a dress.

But regardless. I don’t mean that such arsehole behaviour is normal and everyone should strive to become one drunk on power (like some politicians and richest people out there). Such actions are pure corruption and lead to the dark side, but rarely prosecuted, unfortunately. It is just a normal everyday fact that majority of people of power are corrupted one or another way, and portraying such people in manga antagonizing characters that potentially threat their source of power and status is quite mundane occurrence. If anything, I am disappointing this trope was used at all. Not because they are bad people doing bad stuff to our beloved protagonist and his friends, but simply because we all know that it is a lazy vessel for a character growth and plotted armor of overcoming struggles “the right way”.

The only one that won't is the one that's post apocalyptic
iirc when he does a world transfer to the shadow realm where everyone is just sort of dumb but will treat the MC better, he gets treated more like a normal person.
that is unfortunate and really kills any enthusiasm I had for this series.

To everyone complaining about the wash-rinse-repeat cycle of people being utter shit-heals to the MC and his friends:

THIS IS NOT A FLUFFY SLICE OF LIFE MANGA.

Instead, this is one of those stories where the MC is in for a long slog to end all long slogs, but he's like mutherfuckin' Ganesha with a magic boom-stick. BTW: we're talking about Homer's Odyssey levels of long slog, not Lord of the Rings.

(Ganesha being the elephant-looking dude from the Hindu Pantheon - his shtick is removing obstacles and barriers. Which MC does with breath-taking ease and regularity.)

You seem to be under the illusion that I'm going to.. what was the phrase? Come quietly? Beats the shit of the guards
Or the "diplomatic" approach:
"don't worry dear, the guards are only for show: first of all, we did nothing that warrants our detention. Second, they are nowhere near to be enough to actually detain us". All while casually tying a cute bow with a stoker...

I've read the WN well past this current point in the story, & it was at least 1-2 arcs beyond where we currently are when I stopped keeping up w/ it... but in regards to the current arc, I can't for the life of me recall more than the faintest bits of it except for some stuff around the end of it. I'll throw out a very basic summary of some spoilers for what I DO remember, bu bear in mind that this kinda has the "Underpants Gnome Plan" going on. Step 1: What we've seen. Step 2: ??? Step 3: The climax of the arc. I'll also try to keep it to a what I feel is a relatively high-level outline rather than spill ALL of the beans, in case people want to have SOME surprises.

SO, the main reason I recall what happens at the end is his sister-figure shows up on-screen for the first time in a long while, is revealed to've played a fairly impactful role in more of the events of this arc than we're currently aware, & is one of the main actors in the resolution of the arc. I'm a bit hazier on this part, but I'm pretty sure the climactic bits of the arc involve something like an accidental human?/lizardman? induced monster stampede that's concerning enough that it gets several national armies to show up for it. The ending of the current arc & whole of the next involve some rather major reveals in regards to the setting/background lore that were, at least to me, fairly stunning at the time I read them bc they had little to no direct foreshadowing. HOWEVER, they made several aspects of the story we've seen kinda click into place after they were revealed. Honestly, these sections of the story were some of my favorite stuff in the WN (though I admittedly quit keeping up w/ it sometime after the next arc ends.)

As to the repeated complaints ppl seem to be making, while I can't say that ANYTHING ever works out perfectly for the MC, that feels perfectly normal to me? TBQH I'm rather surprised that ppl feel the MC never has anything go right for him, bc feel like this is one of the more neutral Isekai stories I've read in regards to a mix of good/bad things happening to the MC. It's not the pure "Wish Fulfillment" style story in which the MC is smarter, stronger, & smexier than any other person he meets & thus runs roughshod over everything & everyone he ever encounters (benevolently, usually), but neither is it an unending torrent of incredibly shitty ppl betraying/torturing/exploiting important characters w/ little-to-no comeuppance. He has something akin to a rather wholesome found family w/ his current adventuring crew, & in his travels he meets a myriad of characters who both help (often the common people and/or those w/ lesser social power) & hinder him (most often the "local" ruling class, typically bc they fear his abilities will upend their society & thus THEIR power) . If anything, I feel like most other isekai stories swing far more to either extreme; this just feels like a rather normal story to me.
