Summary of the story so far:
Ryo has the ability to charm monster girls by touching them or making eye contact with them. Humanity is at war with the joint alliance of these monster girl kingdoms (and is presumably losing).
The protagonist has realized within just a few days of meeting the Dragon Queen that she has no ability to feel sympathy or empathy for weaker beings, or the concept of making peace with humanity. After the Magic Queen went on that rampage wiping out human villages, the Dragon Queen gave exactly zero shits about the murdered innocent human civilians when Ryo asked her to help him stop the Magic Queen and protect the humans. She has no shits to give about the weaker members of her dragon kingdom who die tragic deaths as well. With that short conversation, Ryo quickly deduced that trying to garner sympathy from the queens and use his charm ability to work for peaceful coexistence between monsters and humans was simply impossible. On a fundamental level, the monsters can't see humans as anything but enemies and weak creatures to dominate and massacre.
Humanity clearly isn't exactly morally sound, either. Ryo's superiors are willing to make him manipulate the queens into killing each other, and they're also ready to make him enraged and more compelled to do devious acts in order to give humanity any sort of advantage in the war by fabricating incidents of humans being killed by the monsters to him.
He's an expendable obedient rank-and-file soldier simply doing his duty, somebody who sees the opposing side as nothing but irredeemable villains and demonizing them completely — because he was never taught to have any empathy for monsters. There's moments where he hesitates to do something terrible, but his desire for revenge for his slaughtered family and first love ultimately always wins.
Interested if this story will devolve into another edgy murder-porn wish-fulfillment story, or if Ryo will learn to try and establish friendly relations with the monsters to try and end the war without anymore bloodshed, bringing peace to the world in the best-case scenario. Or, maybe the story will take a completely different third approach.
