I don’t get the point of this manga yet, if there is one.
What is this leading towards lol, he doesn’t really have any goals or anything.
Isn't that the point? It's about how you view control, and how you manage situations where it's entirely absent. I think we are exploring the stories we tell ourselves while we're losing that grip.
His initial assessment is that he's special because he still has his memories and "intellect." He states he has a goal to escape, but knows he has to bide his time, so he does his best for the other girls, giving them blissful escape.
While his initial objective was simply to get out, as these chapters progress, we watch him slowly lose even that small sense of purpose.
Plus, if you look at him from the outside without knowing his inner monologue, you'd just see a mindless butcher. But his actions in the last chapter kind of give him away, since he didn't hurt the other girl, but protected her. Aside from taking her hat, which he used to protect another captive's knees. A mindless butcher should have treated it as if he was being given another girl, and probably wouldn't have cared about the first girls knees.
I think this chapter was a test as he suspected and he failed... Spectacularly.
