The fact that she seems to continuously lie for their father is her own fault. If she were just friendly and supportive, he likely wouldn't have a problem.

Same to an extent with the brother, minus the lying. The problem in both cases seems to be the 'yeah, you aren't as bad as him, but you also didn't help me deal with him at all,' which is pretty standard in these situations.
