talk about double downing on a mistake. sure you would have taken heavy damage turning around, but it would not have been nearly as bad as completely being wiped out. withdrawing sporadically with nearly no energy left to defend? theyre done. The damage to their combined fleet was probably worse than what they dealt to the empire.
