I come here think the same thing,Is this Chi's King kid supposed to be a stand-in for Liu Shan? He is way way too weak/indecisive compared even to that. That's why he got no pity here compared to the other one lol.
That's would be a really big diversion lol. I don't think Masamune was ever that close to Rai to extract that kinda request from him. Even if they're really close, Rai is clearly not the kinda guy who tolerate soft man at this point. Best he can do is strip the kid of all his power and pretty much exile him to a quiet corner of the universe. If they wanna do a Three kingdom copycat ending like that, Rinsokuka, the vice chief advisor, is right thereNow that we're here, I can finally comment. It's really crazy how they changed the story for the anime. In the anime, this kid became the emperor!
Basically, when Masamune died, she extracted an oath from Rai to protect Chi and her little bro, so after Rai accepted Hiryu surrendered the entire Chi fleet intact and the combined fleet went back to the Chi capital to enthrone the kid. Chi became an independent vassal state of Daigojo and none of the problems here happened because Rai took charge of raising the kid. The anime series ended with the Gojo and Ren fleets destroying each other in an epic battle. All the great heroes died, and Chi united the realm years later.

Well, I have read the manga a long time ago, I just haven't watched the anime. SO I'm fine with spoiler to be honest. I can always try and hunt down the anime later. I guess that development make sense if Masamune actually forced Rai to swear an oath to keep her country at sword point. Still couldn't see how the kid still able to make a comeback without any backbone like this lol.Well, no. I've read the entire series. I'm full of spoilers which is why I hadn't commented until this point. This is just the right place to do so because of the insane divergence. It doesn't end the same way in the manga, just the anime. That's why when I saw the anime I think everyone went nuts when we saw how they changed the story for it. In the anime Masamune actually "won" her final fight with Rai then died of her illness upon victory. That's how she extracted the promise.
Like you said, and the ones like you that have watched the anime, me included, already know that the anime series are quite different from the manga. But we do really need to remember that the original story is in the manga series. Manabe had a LOT of differences with the... creation of the anime. But in my opinion, the anime is an alternate interpretation of all of this wonderful story. And please, no spoilers, hahaha!Well, no. I've read the entire series.
