To be frank, it'd just skip them even if they were there. Musical sections in fiction to me almost always feel like the singer putting the plot and action on hold for a couple minutes to express their feelings and/or opinions in an unncesessarily elaborate and prolonged way.

Yeah it does nothing for me either. It's just exposition, but with cringey japanese pop-rock lyrics instead.
