It's the kind of maddeness born in America : every little thing is overinterpreted and is either racist/sexist or whatever for non-sensical reasons because fuck context.
Here in France, most animes for kids were heavily adapted, names where changed, locations where changed, everything non-french was erased. And most of everything was toned down or even cut if deemed necessary, like in City Hunter. That's not racist, it was understandable given the context of the time. They were making everything kid friendly because the european public was supposed to be kids instead of teenagers. And everything was made more French/american or whatever because no one knew anything about japan at the time and Internet didn't exist to be more informed.
But when a young Gen Z dumbass see that, they think it's japanese-erasure or something stupid like that because they can't imagine the world before them. For them, internet was always here, anime was always here, smartphones were always here, gacha games were invented in the middle age. Gen Z sub-humans are not fully developped, especially their brains. They need a older brother to spank them more.
