There's a hero vs. demon lord manga I remember reading back in the day that I'd really like to find again. I remember it was an older manga, or at the very least one that had already had scanlation work done on it back when I was in highschool/starting college (so around a decade ago, at least), since I remember reading it on mangafox back then.
I remember the art style was a lot less kawaii than a lot of modern stuff, and I feel like it leaned more into a shoujo style than shounen, though I can't recall if the overall writing and plot stylings were more shoujo or seinen.
It had a fantasy setting, and the hero was (iirc) basically a pacifist, refusing to kill demons, but was otherwise really powerful. The one exception was the demon lord, who he had sworn to kill. At the beginning, he shows up to the demon lord's castle, but she lies and tricks him into believing that she's just a normal demon (I believe it was out of fear, due to how strong he was?) and they begin traveling together with her serving as his guide to try and "find" the demon lord, while secretly she's trying to figure out a way to defeat him (of course, eventually she falls in love with him).
I also remember that the reason the hero didn't kill demons/monsters was because he had a little slime as a friend when he was a kid.
I feel like I also remember something about him having met the demon lord when she was young, and her destroying his hometown and/or killing his slime friend, and that's why he swore an oath to kill the demon lord, but still refused to kill other demons/monsters (since he always thought back to his slime buddy, and how his friend was proof that heroes and monsters could cooexist).
I distinctly remember one chapter where another demon does something to flip the hero's personality (or make him lose inhibitions, or remove part of his personality, or something like that), and he becomes a violent asshole, but the spell or w/e accidentally hit the demon lord too, and she becomes really submissive and obedient to him, with her growing feelings for him coming to the forefront.
I know that at some point it was revealed that the existing demon lord was actually some sort of clone of the original demon lord (who was male, despite the clone being female), and said original wound up being the big bad they fought at the end
I also sort of remember something about that fight taking place on, like... a giant clock? Tbh it's kinda fuzzy.
I do know that, at least at the time I read it, the entire manga had been scanlated from start to finish.
Also, I remember that the demon lord had long black hair (which I think she kept up in a ponytail), a rather elfin (as in "elf-like", with long pointy ears and whatnot, not "elfin" as in "small and delicate") build to her, and was vaguely androgynous. I think she may have had a tail, and potentially wings, but I don't have a clear picture of her in my mind. As for the hero, I can barely remember if he had white (or, at least, white in a black-and-white manga) or black hair.
