No, it's not absurd at all, one thing is Cocoa, but Syaro is also going to the city literally for no reason? Is KoyumexTsubasa the only kirara pairing of the type of "princely senpai x princess kouhai" that doesn't end in tragedy? Every single other pair ends up separated for no reason. I doubt anything Syaro wants in college isn't in the same college Rize is attending.

The only possible way to redeem this is if there is a time skip ending when Cocoa and Syaro get back in town and meet their girls again.

At least the handholding is nice, after years of no RizexSyaro chapter, I'll give them that.

It's fine, and it's not for no reason. The strong implication (go reread chapters 131 and 147) is that she's going to university to learn how to better help Chiya manage AmaUsa. Honestly, if anything, the existence of Chiya should be more concerning to a RizexSyaro shipper than anything else.
