I prefer stubbier SD too. Personally, Legend BBs were my favorite, proportion-wise.
Also, painting SD really is tiring. I just finished with my SD Warlock Aegis and it's surely took a lot of energy & time.

Personally I think that classic SDs are really neat, especially the ones that look simple, but CS ones are way cooler. Both are good.
Can't imagine myself painting any of the fancier SDs though.
