Yeah, with those pre-builts Robot Damashii being at that price point, the quality is to be expected.

There was an obscure and defunct line of pvc gundam figurine at 1/400 scale. I managed to collect over 40 of these via flea market and online sellers. Best thing is? The scale matched my Pacific Rim's mechs made by Diamond Select. No photos because pirvacy. Another best thing? There is already a model/diorama hobbyist dedicated to 1/400 scale. Commercial passenger plane enthusiast. Their stuffs are made at 1/400 scale as well as their airport diorama pieces. Tarmacs, refueling trucks, little stairs, gantries, large hangars, control towers. Etc etc. With some spending money, waiting time and patience, I can make a diorama of Pacific Rim Jaegers as well several Mobile Suits guarding a militarized airport.

Has the quality improved, though? Tried to get into Damashii during its earlier days, the bare plastic quality looked cheaper than stock unpainted Gunpla imo. My friends and I don't really have a high opinion of Bandai's action figures.
