The romantic scenes of him remembering her when they were younger, him being in his twenties and her a young teen, are gross. Why the author insists on making the relationship go back that far is beyond me. Her being in her twenties would have been fine. All of the cute scenes are ruined whenever it's brought up

You got a point, but you need to open up your mind to what a pedo actually is. They are predators that lust over young naive and powerless kids. Its not just about age gaps or when one of the other is underaged. The author did not write a story of a pedo to loli, he wrote a story about someone who feel for someone that was young and he waited too late but gained another chance to get her albeit closing to the end of his life span. But indeed, it would have been safer and preferable if the author did not push the flashbacks so far back.

I really love the idea of the manga but the pedophilia couldn't be over looked. When they met she was sixteen and he was twenty-six and her tutor. He was attracted to her light-hearted and encouraging personality, but she's sixteen, naive, and a kid that he was tutoring. I think he's more attracted to her clueless-ness and/or innocence because after three decades she doesn't pick up on his innuendos and doesn't hold herself like how a women who lived through a marriage and divorce should (which I expect to be mature, self-assuring, or at least knowledgeable). Instead her reactions and personality is reminiscent of her teenage self. It's as if she hasn't change in those three decades, which I find bland.
this manga had a lot of potential to be a slow-burn with intriguing conflicts because of their age gap and romance starting at an older age after experiencing life in their youth, but it didn't and problematically had their romance start at inappropriate ages.
I could go on complaining, and now have motivation to rewrite the entire story as a result.

... I am pretty sure that is the most extreme case of ''Oh yeah, somehow I never really found anyone else but you'' I have ever seen.

Dude was apparently in love with her for the last over 30 years or so. Never moved on or anything but also never tried anything.

Then she divorces the happen to meet up and she... acts like she is still her young self.

The hell is the point of the story in the first place if she does not act her age?

I am pretty sure the idea is that he fell in love with her cute cheerful innocent self back then and the mange wants to show that she still is that.

BUT SHE IS NOT. She was married for decades but completely shuts down because a dude holds her hand?

Yeah no, this story simply came up with an idea that it thought was interesting but did not actually want a story following said idea.

To be fair, the idea is not really a good one in the first place.
