yeah while narrative convention would suggest he's the father, as it would just make more sense for the father to be a character we already know, the fact that he neither recognizes her nor her name, makes it really hard to believe they used to know each other.

and at that point she could have given him a false name, while looking massively different to how she does now, maybe she worked at a hostess bar he frequented or something and so he only ever got her stage name and only ever saw her in her stage (for lack of a better word) drip.

But also, that requires a big maybe to work.
