Yeah so not so funny story lol... The company I worked for did a mass layoff and I'm currently fucked lol. I paid for chapters of astro king instead of kracken as I was gonna wait on kracken but now I have no income atm...

If anyone wants to commission it, Silas found at that link does commissions for 18 a chapter and its a super easy process to ask him and he does upload to [REDACTED].

Pray for me boys...

I am wondering what happened...... Found this.
Rinko was the translator & scanlator that worked on chapters 8-15 (Demon Instructor at the Royal Academy of Magic). Rinko was also the translator for “Hell’s Tormentor Kraken”. Rinko wanted to take a break, but some MangaDex users, who were fans of HTK, continually gave Rinko shit for slow uploads. Understandably, out of rage & spite, Rinko deleted all of their uploaded work, including chapters 8-15 for this very manga.

Not long ago someone reuploaded all of Rinko’s work on HTK, but in a very unfortunate twist of fate, HTK became a casualty of the DMCA strikes, from one Square-Enix.

Won't all this get taken down again? Or has the heat died down now?
they would have to re-issue MD another order to MD to remove the links again, it's normally a huge hassel but MD got hit with the giant one since so many scan groups were getting paid.

So technically, we can reupload the more popular manga here as long as we don't do too many.

The actual issue is when you got all these scanslation groups trying to make money and using MD as means of advertising to funnel readers onto their ad-driven sites with paywalls to get early access to new chapters.

Noticed that pretty much all the stuff that got DMCA'd on MD was stuff being translated by the bigger scanslation groups that try to make a profit? Groups like Soseki, GalaxyDegen, and Flame Comics just to name a few...

This is why they've redone the rules to make it clear that scans groups can't be using the site to funnel readers into their own site. It's not so much that they're not allowed to have a website, just that they want to make it less likely that MD is gonna get DMCA'd like that again. And really, having a separate website to host titles off of MD is pretty damn idiotic if you ask me.

Why?

Because you gotta pay for the domain, pay for the hosting, and pay for the bandwidth. And then you gotta maintain the site yourself or pay someone to do it... And this doesn't even get into the scanslation itself - if you're trying to be all "professional" about it and pay for a staff and pay for high-definition raws. Shit adds up real fucking fast.

Meanwhile, you have MD which does it all for free. At which point, it's a no-brainer that leaves no room for excuses. The only people who go the route of having their own website is because they're trying to turn a profit.

This is why I'll be making it abundantly clear on my credits pages: While I appreciate the thought, I don't want your money. Instead, please donate to Mangadex, and then go to Amazon/Bookwalker/CD Japan to buy the originals to support the mangaka (and help stave off the dreaded Ax-kun).
