Um.. what? Author-sensei are you ok? Is this a cry for help?
The original series was degenerate in the later volumes, so they couldn't really use anything past the first volume for the anime. But this is just brain damage on paper

In the comments post on the series here on the Mangadex forum, they say that the author of Golden Boy has experience in pornography and it seems that the manga is more about reporting some of his feelings than telling Kintaro's story itself.

The strangest thing is that both manga (the first version and this one) end with the characters doing the same thing
(apparently in a virtual environment).

Perhaps in the end the moral of Golden Boy will be
"there is no perfect man and Kintaro Oe only exists on the computer and in people's hearts". :p

We always come back to the question of is existence a simulation or reality. Nice…
Thank you Kintariyo for doing what no other English group has done for almost 20 years and bringing us the continuation of Golden Boy… I really want Golden Boy 3 but we’ll wait and see!

Egawa only directed porn AFTER golden boy I was finished. Golden Boy II being full of porn industry bullshit might be related to that though. But Golden Boy II is also some weirdo schizophrenic afterthought.
How Egawa decided to close it off is a real bummer, like Golden Boy II didnt need to exist, it adds nothing of substance to part I and doesn't even properly tie things up.

I pretty much agree with the last part of this comment.
Of course there's context to this situation but while what happened with part 1 could be excused for certain reasons that Egawa faced back then, what happened with this one has no excuse. Is a clear example of what I call the Egawa intoxication.
I don't think I will have time to go deep in detail with that but I will probably make a thread in twitter this week explaining what happened with the golden boy manga back then.

@VerticalVectors and @vagligeiro because the may also be interested in that.

Thank you again for the translation and also for the conversation.

No rush, I no longer have Twitter/x but I try to follow it via nitter. I'll find you there later.

But I actually find the way Golden Boy is told interesting. Despite Kintaro's perversions, the story is quite fluid and the plots really push you to know what will happen in the next chapter.

Besides, Golden Boy is kind of a story that exaggerates a character. Kintaro is very simple and direct in his actions - and lately I kind of take inspiration from him a little when it comes to lifestyle. His positivity also adds up, which in these last chapters in Golden Boy 2 ends up being put to the test a little, including in the interview with Kongoji (which in the end turns into a call to a sect and Kintaro apparently doesn't know much what to do) .

Anyway, it's a series that grabbed me and I'm following it as best I can. Again, grateful. :)
PS: I use Google Translate for talking with yours. Pardon any errors ;)

Thanks for the translation! Do you plan on translating any more manga (by this author or not) in the future?
