Good start, was interested in the new villain because they would be of a similar power level, but an ass pull memory loss for a character who's sole motivation is getting his sister back. His sister being ONLY A MEMORY at this point? The mangaka, the editor, the production house can all do one. Peace out bitches!

He's either going to somehow regain his memories REAL quick making this whole memory lost a waste of time or this is 100% going to be axed for a LN promotional or something

Either way both paths are complete and utter shit

Worse than actually regaining his memories in an easy way, like with the magic tool in the girl's pocket that got focused on, he will probably end up with a method to return only selected memories, so that he can finally let go of his dead sister and move on with his life.

but honestly, even the WN ending is very unsatisfactory

Honestly, I don’t get why people are upset.

The villain is the one character that could be consider MC’s equal in intelligence.

She lived for many years. Likely perfecting her spells.

Under those circumstances it isn’t unreasonable that she develop a memory altering/erasing spell.
