FWIW, doing my uploads a bit earlier today as I'll be busy later on. Here you go. Hope you like melodrama!
(And hopefully my shenanigans with the fonts don't feel too dumb/silly... to be absolutely clear, more or less none of that is in the original, the mangaka does use different fonts, but nothing wacky. I have been trying to put some thought into it, but it's still pure artistic liberty on my part to try and make scenes and narrative progression land a bit better. By all means tell me if it's too much... though since nobody said anything after the first chapter I guess maybe it's fine?)

Minor complaint but i feel like the narration font is too squished. Like on page 5 when the sentences are longer i find it abit strenuous to read.

I might be overanalyzing this or being a little biased
but I think that the mc is a reference to the Night Song from Nietzsche or coincidentally fits very well into it
Since in chapter 1 its mentioned that he is the Light that illuminates the never ending darkness of other people
and through the sleep trades he can GIVE his light
The song goes as follows:
The Night-Song, the immortal plaint of one who, thanks to his superabundance of light and power, thanks to the sun within him, is condemned never to love.
Light am I; ah, that I were night! But this is my loneliness that I am girt with light. Ah, that I were dark and nocturnal! How I would suck at the breasts of light! And even you would I bless, you little sparkling stars and glowworms up there, and be overjoyed with your gifts of light.

Theres more to the actual quote but as of now I think those fit parts fit the mc the best
While the mc is able to save other people with his light
he himself cannot be saved
and he might start desiring he never had this light in the first place
Tho again as I said im probably just overanalyzing this
