I reiterate: Female homosexuality was not illegal in the UK, and the reason that Oscar Wilde fell afoul of the law was because he'd tried to get another man thrown in prison for calling him a homosexual (which makes Wilde a rather poor martyr).
Just as stories by Westerners about eastern lands are often largely constructed of myth, stories by Easterners about western lands are often largely constructed of myth. The history that one can learn from such fiction is really just a history of fiction.

You're right. I'm Italian and I've read the manga "Arte", which is set in Italy in 1500 and the historical part is not wrong, but it's not entirely correct either.
So yeah, don't expect to learn about the UK history by reading this 😅
@Oeconomist
I've learned from my Victorian era research a long time ago that relationships between females are considered impossible by the Queen herself and that this is no more other than gals being very close pals.
I've also read before that sodomy was illegal during the Regency era. But this requires testimonies and evidences, unless you're poor ofc. Idk if that carried over the Victorian period.
......
First, Frankenstein is the name of the scientist, the creature itself has no name.
Second, her pen name is Victor Frank. Frank as in Frankenstein ? Is that a reference at the fact that the author was a woman, Mary Shelley ?
