PunPun was a poor little boy growing up. With all his depression, a bit of abuse, getting raped, he obviously is not right in the head and a good bit of that is due to the failings of those he grew up around.

Still though, he never learns, he always makes excuses, and now he is quite simply a maniac.
I used to say "poor Punpun" quite frequently when he was younger, but he does not deserve any sympathy nowadays.
