I feel like a lot of people here don't seem to realize that you can dislike a character for actions they did while also appreciating certain aspects of them.
I don't like Midori for what she did to Punpun, that was quite literally the worst thing you could do to him, but there's a complexity with her because she still cares about him in a way. Same with Yuuichi.
Everyone in this manga is in some way fucked up, realistically, hell even Punpun himself is not a good person, and sure, part of it is because of his upbringing, but I'm also reading this and seeing a young man who doesn't want to try to help himself (this is coming from how I've been reading his infatuation with Aiko, it's making me really uncomfortable).
It's such an interesting piece of writing because of how human it is.
