Thanks for the translation!
The story is great, but its breaking my heart. Poor Soo-a, she doesn't deserve this!

Also I thought those snakes underwater were tentacles at first and my mind went the wrong way lol

From this chapter onward you'll see a big improvement in the cleaning and typesetting for this series ^^ Thank you blob for giving me a hand on the project!

Well at least he looked like he felt guilty, although he didn’t get a chance to say it. Can’t wait to see what happens next!

The story is so high quality that I can feel that tragedy tag punch me in the face. I'm quite interested on how Soo-a goes on from her predicament. Thank you for the update!

Omg. I just want to cry!
She can't communicate with the world anymore, the lady thinks its her fault and the guy regrets now!!!! At same time I get why he poisoned MC, I am just angry, NOW HE REGREST JUST BECAUSE HE HEARD HOW SHE SAVED HIS FRIEND'S LIFE!!!!!!!!!! (Sorry, I didn't memorized no one's name and I am lazy to go back and look --')
SOMEONE TEACH THIS POOR GIRL HOW TO WRITE, AT LEAST!!!!!!!!

And thanks for the translation <3

You coward, HAVE THE GUTS TO TELL YOUR BEST FRIEND ABOUT HOW YOU KILLED HIS SAVIOUR!

By the way did Korean sign language not exist at this point? "We may never know"? Feels like even without talking or writing, there should have been some known way of communicating in early 20th century Korea.

@MrGoose Your question intrigued me so I did some research Googling and apparently the first documented use of an official "Sign Language" in Korea was from the first school of the deaf built by the Japanese occupation in 1913, only 13 years before this story so... it existed then, but considering the time period I don't think the use of it would have spread that far.

Regardless, I feel like it's more about how they won't be able to "dig" the answer out of Soo-a, and not Soo-a's ability to convey that someone had forced her to drink poison. I feel like if she was willing to reveal such information, it'd be easy enough to mimic someone forcing her to drink, and the police would've launched an investigation simply based on that. But if she chooses not to, there's nothing anyone can do about it because she's mute, and they will be left to their own conclusion.

Never mind, the mistress was actually playing the "sister" of the little mermaid like in the original story.
