@Speshell the foreign princess gets married to the prince, and the little mermaid was offered another chance of becoming human by stabbing the prince with a dagger given to her by her sisters. she couldn't do it and chose to become seafoam as per the original agreement. the wind spirits took pity on her and made her one of them instead.

Why can't these people just learn how to apologize without all the justifications and "but ifs"? And also they need to stop asking her questions that are clearly impossible for her to answer without words. It feels like their "apologies" are never actually for her sake, but just so they can say what they want to say.
