I still don't understand what this manga IS. Whuddaheck is Harold Sakuishi trying to do here? I grew up with Beck and Busujima. This just reads like a total downgrade from those.

We haven't manage to finish volume 01, so it's expected for you not to get much. However, do keep in mind that Gorillaman was his very first work as a mangaka, so he still learns as the series involves. We all start from somewhere, so we just have to wait and see the evolution of the series as well as the author, Harold Sakuishi.
