I love the mangaka because I instantly could relate to her and her past even though I would probably choose only one and I get jealous XP
If you think about it, maybe things could've worked with Chiho even with 3 girls but she was baka u.u) I bet Chiyono picked a school knowing that Chiho wouldn't get in.

So... Mayuki likes Akria and Akria likes Rin. And now... Rin is starting to fall for Mayuki...

We kinda already know about Rin poly tendencies, althought it's less poly than she seem to can't choose only one person to love the most. I mean, on paper it's not that strange when it come to friends or family but that's a given that when it came to love, it's more a problem.

WHY SOCIETY MAKES US CHOOSE ALL THE TIME?!

I won't go deep into details because it's something I'm an expert on but i thought articles saying that Polyamory/Polygamy society is more subject to crimes and other asocial comportement due to the fact that well, some persons are bond to be alone. For example, if you take a group of 100 peoples, if it's monogamous you can just divide by 2 and have 50 couples but if it's polygamous then there is a possibilty that someone or more stay alone. I know Polygamy and Polyamory aren't quite the same thing but it's similar.

An expected backstory to explain her, now how she'll get the other two to agree to be poly.

@Lilliwyt
Sounds great. Some people are aromantic and/or asexual.

I’m mono, sexual and a lesbian, just to be clear that the above isn’t me.

You know, I'm all in for polyamory, but love triangles driven by misunderstandings stress the hell out of me. Life really can't be that simple I guess. Also @Lilliwyt brings some interesting points, but things are never that easy I guess. While in your example with a hundred people does work for monogamous conduct, people are just always bound to be alone so it makes me really curious about what would make people say that. Also the fact that between 100 and 99 there's just one person which would make a polygamous society work, that is completely disregarding male to female ratio and if people even were to adopt those tendencies tho

I mean, you will always found examples for pros and against because humanity is so diverse that one example in particular could not be the same with another 100 peoples(yeah btw i said peoples because it's less specific than 50 mens and 50 womens so people won't jump at me for that). I mean theoratically a polygamous could work, but that's not that simple. Not that monogamous can't have the same problem, jealousy crimes does exist.

Quite a strange spot to place a dramatic flashback as we barely know anything about Rin, but whatever.

I was really confused by how long was the flashback timewise but it seems there was about a year (a couple months less maybe) between the friend's failure and the girls meeting under the tree and wow, one year is quite a long time yet neither of them could sort out their feelings and just let things go.

I have a bit of a problem with the fact that it's not just that Rin can love more than one person at the same time, but that she can't seem to be able to love less than two people at the same time, and she apparently treated her love for each of the girls as love for both of them at the same time? I'm not poly so I'm not sure but I guess this is not how it works.

I'm curious about this because it seems like I'll end up seeing the story more as an contrived comedy than a serious romance or drama.

@RaimundoBruno fun thing is, for some polyam people that is straight up how it works.

Well, it’s less “be in love with at least 2 people any given time” and more that they are unable to constrain their love to only a singular person. Like when Chiyono asked Rin to essentially be exclusive, Rin felt that that would be like saying that she should betray her feelings for Shiho, as if they are worth less.

Or when she is afraid of falling in love with Mayuki, it’s not because she actually has another third person she’s also in love with at the time, but more that she simply can’t promise only a single person exclusivity to her love, which she believes is something Mayuki would ask of her.

Since the scene under the tree is apparently in June (going by the first chapter's title) and that the school year ends in March in Japan, that means there's been 3 to 4 months tops since Rin and Shiho parted ways. That's quite short actually.

@Lyendith Oh, you're right. I assumed they were closer to the entrance tests at the end of the year/start of the new one, but they're using short sleeves so they're probably in summer. That makes more sense.
