I like it how nice and supportive everyone is towards MC, especially his dad. Tbh his dad being anything "less", would probably just have negative effects toward MC's psyche.. It's always better to do things this way, than remind him every time they meet, that how disappointed dad was of his son..
Also I don't even think a cool dad like that would even have to hide any disappointment, because he just cares of his son so much, and just wishes happy things for his life.
