Huh, when my parents abandoned me, they didn't regret it. Not immediately after, not years after. I have a hard time believing that someone who seriously believes their child is a demon would feel sorrow after getting rid of them.

God no. Two was enough. Good lord, I could not sit through 48 episodes of that.

i dunno, maybe it was a you problem and not a them problem

like werewolf mama says, they loved her before, right? Just being afraid doesn't make that vanish, even if it can outweigh it (even tho here the implication is that they sold her so she could grow up safe and happy, even if it wasn't with them)

The most bitter hatred is borne from the deepest love. Beating a small child as if they were an adult is beyond forgiveness, beyond excuses.

in most (>85% or so) actual child abuse cases, that's not really the situation. but it's manga with magic so whatevs

regarding beating children, i dunno, if you think it's okay to beat someone who's an adult, but not a child, that's still on you for thinking beating people is forgivable or excusable

An adult is normally capable of fleeing or fighting back. When one is outweighed more than their own bodyweight, by someone who could bodily throw them a good distance, neither option is on the table. But you've no intention of arguing in good faith.

Yes, I could have, but I prefer to finish what I start. And I don't think adding more episodes to a bad series will make it any better.

I keep noticing people mentioning the anime. I noticed that was mentioned in the manga itself very early on, so I'm guessing they based it on some other mutual source material or something?
Also that apparently it has a gecko ending or somesuch.

Well whatever. The plot here may be good but that is no guarantee for the anime either way, especially if it deviates.
That said, I guess it depends how they translate the names in the anime.
