Could've sworn this was the same artist as BLAME, real nice art that sets a certain mood though
I literally shit myself when I read it without seeing the author, and I thought nihei was reverting to his old artstyle again on a new series

I thought ive seen the art style before

Also been a while since i see Sci-fi
speaking of sci fi being hard to find, ITS INSANE how unpopular sci fi is in japan,

like seriously, I've noticed this issue actually a year ago when I was browsing sci fi awards world wide, along with top japanese novels, and i've noticed that in both manga, anime and on their novels, the japanese almost never write sci fi or win any awards in writing for it, and even if they do they write mecha, which is barely sci fi and almost akin to magic at this point due to how cliche it is.

there was a short time when sci fi was some what popular around the 90s, but its not even close to how popular sci fi is in china or south korea, its interesting though, perhaps its because of the lost decade and japans decline,
i feel like science fiction only has appeals when your country has a hopeful future and will dominate the technical fields etc, like us, china even south korea to a point, it might be also why british sci fi is always rare nowdays

Good manga are always on the sides. However, boobs manga are always on cover page.
I'm still waiting for hyperinflation to get translated, it was a massive hit in japan and apparently the translators suddenly disappeared,
also im literally manually phone translating Killer Ape because the translators also stoped right in the middle, lots of series are like this.

Interesting world building, like someone pointed out, it appears to be a nature vs technology theme. The art for me is a bit of a mixed bag but the dark walkers look neat. MC ended the chapter seeming like an edge lord but I hope him and the female character end up with decent development and characterization. Albert got what was coming for him but with him gone I wonder who will be the next antagonist or if MC is just gonna go around killing random government officials every arc

Yet another woe-is-me protagonist ostensibly coming from the bottom rung of society who turns out to have always been a super special Chosen One just waiting for the right set of totally coincidental circumstances to be "awakened", plus the typical reverse logic of having the angelic looking guy in bright colors be the villain and the demonic looking dude in dark colors be the good guy. And now that the angelic looking guy's side is revealed to be genocidal eugenicists, the MC embraces edgelordism and joins the super sekrit anti-electricity organization of Killing Bites characters that showed up outta nowhere in a plot to "take back the world" or whatever. And of course the protagonist has absolutely no prior idea he even has these Dark Jogger powers/lineage and was in fact saved from certain death from just such a creature by the very same guy who caused his recent awakening. Not to mention effortlessly getting used to his powers in no time at all because bruh, he is the Chosen One!

Gotta agree with the others who said the writing in this is so shitty it actually became an interesting read :meguusmug:

My favorite part was the room adult MC meets Albert in. The one with the powerless people sitting in weird cube shackles. So that the organization's poster boy can personally lop off their heads and then I guess drag each of their bodies into that garbage pit. Also they were all naked for some reason.

Yeah that part got me chuckling at how it was so, so dumb it must have been an intentional move by the author. The next part where Albert gives that exposition speech to MC outing the EPD as the bad guys also felt like the author did it to spite his own readers or perhaps his editor.
