The art is good so I can't blame you reading it friend. Add Katsura Airi to your mangaka blacklist, and follow this artist in their future works if you like it enough. Next take some deep breaths and find another comfy rom-com to read. Read, laugh, love, enjoy life and put this story from your mind, because its not worth it.
Speaking of which. How do I follow the artist? I'm on the profile but the follow button is faded for me. I can't click it.

Ah when I said follow I meant on X, but their X activity is pretty low so need to follow that, maybe just check on it whenever this manga ends. Both Airi and artist actually don't have a huge history of previous works, Airi spent a lot of her time doing KaramiZakari sequels and spinoffs. I'd be surprised if the next project they'll still be together, there's a chance, I wouldn't be mad since GraPara! will definitely have been an experience for them as much as it has been us in the end.

Ah that's too bad. I can't do Jack on my X because my account got hacked and suspended. I've tried to appeal it numerous times saying it wasn't me but they keep hitting me with the "nah it's justified to keep you banned" response.

X account of mine also got suspended recently with an appeal rejected. I only use it to keep up with certain gaming new circles, and Katsura Airi recently lol, I'm obsessed with where this manga is going dear lord. I may have been wrong about Shinobu challenging fuckboi at the cafe, fine not a probelm. Shinobu is for sure rejecting Fumi though come on, put the story back on those rails and then fix the rails, it's still possible because this is a mature romance and our cast isn't an immature group of dumb ahh horny highscoolers like in Karamizakari whose premise doomed it from the start.

Amen brother.
Funnily enough I found this manga on Hiperdex. It's just with the direction I saw the manga going I had to see what others were saying about it.

This is the first forum I've been actively taking part in when it comes to Mangadex.

My only annoyance when it comes to my X account is I have to see this "pretty boy" profile image with the name "Jarenny"

I check out Hiperdex out from time to time. Also my first time yapping away on forums for a manga, I have admit Katsura got something right, so I'll reserve judgment till the end because the storys not over yet and the setups are still good. Partially why I'm against committing to Fumi route right in the next chapter because that immediately cuts away some of the possibilities left for the story.

We're both in it till the end. That much is certain.

The more I think about it the more I want the answer to be left ambiguous when it comes to Shinobu's answer. Next chapter I want to be Sakura focused to see on her end. Only to cut away to an opening opportunity that then cuts to them showing a panel of Shinobu writing a script.

Seriously if Airi wants any shot of a redemption this arc is the best chance to do so. The movie arc in rent-a-girlfriend is the absolute best arc in that story. Only to get butchered with whatever happens after. So I'll admit I'm looking forward to this more than I should be.

It'll be a wild ride to the end. I feel slightly different on the pending confession, I understand that a soft rejection will be much easier for both sides, but I still prefer Shinobu to explain to Fumi that he'll never be able to really be able to move on from Sakura and wants to avoid giving her false hope. This way he can take these feelings into writing the script and using Sakura as the base instead of Fumi to save time. Fumi should still be fine to act it out because there are parts of her that are very similar to Sakura. This far in the manga every action Shinobu has taken was for Sakura's sake, even the breakup itself and so I'd like to see the author maintain that consistency. On a final note, ho boy Rental Kano Season 6 lol

I absolutely agree. A soft rejection can happen, but honestly I can still see Shinobu and Fumi getting close still regardless. Even if not in a relationship yet.

Sakura would undoubtedly play a role. Ideally in the movie itself. She has to see the events unfold and hopefully be smart enough to piece it all together.

But yea, I don't read the manga anymore or watch the anime. I heard the movie arc was amazing but that shit goes south real quick after. So I read up to that point and didn't push further. The girls are good characters.. the MC is shit lol

I'm all for them maintaining the most amicable coworker relationship, just no romance. I don't see how we don't get a reunion during this arc barring a dramatic event leading to the movie production process being skipped over, which is a possibility if the creators are scrambling for the ending, but with no announcement I'll assume the manga is going to keep going for a bit longer than we think. Don't read rental kano, not a big fan only watched first season. MC is definitely a fumbled character like Sakura so far.

That MC is a bonafide cuck. Was crying his eyes out at the thought of Chizuru sleeping with another man yet had a hard on too.

But yea there's gonna be a reunion between Sakura and Shinobu. I just want it done well and be meaningful, I'm a broken record but they need to settle things.

You're not a broken record, it's because that's truly all that's left in the story. Let's say the majority fans get their wish it's Fumi route time, then it'll be a speedrun to happily ever after, there's no compelling story left to tell unless they tack on a 2 at the end of the manga title because the premise will have shifted so greatly, and even then what story do you tell between Fumi and Shinobu? Minus the few chapters of them having passionately romantic sexy time there's not much. 1 Movie arc is more than enough, and post movie arc Fumi will be a star actress and Shinobu becomes a up and coming director on the big shots radar, there's not much left beyond that. Compared to that Sakura route while infinitely more difficult to swing now, has an infinitely better pay off worth pursuing, especially since this mature romance, it doesn't matter how long they've been apart and how long fuckboi's been able to have his way. All depends on if author agrees though and we'll soon find out ahah. On the topic of Rental Kano MC, a screenshot of that particular panel made the rounds for sure, just like the ntr imagination ones too at some point, bro needs to get it together.

Shinobu absolutely needs to get it together. This arc is the perfect opportunity.

Honestly if it were up to me and I was the author that made this fucked up decision. I'd lock in. No more NTR be no more comedy. Serious passion go time.

You leave Shinobu's response ambiguous. We don't know if he answers yes or no. But they do spend time together as the prepare for the script.

Meanwhile with Sakura we learn she's still conflicted. Wondering if what she did was the right choice or not. She's with an agency but she feels like something is missing. She's only been getting side gigs because her potential has not been what the agency was expecting. It's a little rough and she feels the pressure. They find out about a movie role, it's a side role still but a movie is better than TV for exposure. This is her chance.

This is when Sakura arrives on set and sees it's actually Shinobu's movie. There's awkward tension.. they talk briefly and Shinobu, as always, tells her to do her best. Despite the pain she, unknowingly, inflicted. Things haven't seemed to change.

The movie has her acting out in the "Fumi" role of the movie with Fumi being the "Sakura" role. The movie goes on about the same, Sakura begins to piece things together. Sees Shinobu's side of things through the acting. The one change? That kiss scene. "Sakura" was stopped from boarding the train. "Shinobu" explains what happens. Sakura sees this and the guilt overwhelms her. She doesn't say anything but she's realizing what she's done.

Movie time comes. Shinobu is anxious but Fumi holds his hand in the theater for assurance. This time she's the pillar he needs in this moment. Sakura likely doesn't see the movie since she's burdened with guilt. Eventually she reaches out to Shinobu.

They meet. They talk. Sakura realizes what she was missing was her pillar. Shinobu. So she asks for his help.

And this is where we have the answer for Shinobu's "will he won't be". Sakura or Fumi? Well.. it all just depends. One way is he does take her back. Or he chooses Fumi but still willing to lend support to Sakura despite this. Either way, there's settlement between Sakura and Shinobu.

If the author can match even just 70% of this and it'd be perfect honestly.

Exactly..of course it's just a summary. Yuma and the agency no doubt has to be involved one way or another.

Knowing Airi there may be some NTR baits but hopefully lesson learned and tones it down.

But as long as you stay in course, get the main points across. You can salvage this manga. Will Sakura be more liked? Probably not. But it shows she's matured. It shows she's realized her mistakes. She cheated. That's unforgivable. But she's grown and learned from it.

Shinobu, being the sweet boy he is, isn't going to hold anything against her. But he will get the closure needed to make the choice on what he wants to do with his life.

This is Airi's chance to show what she's capable of. Have the moment of showing you can do more than just NTR. That you have talent and can expand your skillset. It's wishful thinking, but if she manages to pull this off to a way that's content? I may look into her next work still if she doesn't go back to doujins or hentai.

I'd way 100x more doom n gloom if Katsura was self publishing. We can give Airi some credit, they did make or approve that adjustment to the end of Karamizakari for the non-H manga to make the FMC more wholesome (she never slept around in the end after hooking up with MC and post breakup).

Exactly. This is no self publish. She has to limit herself. If she wants to do her own thing with these characters she can do them in any hentai doujin she wants.

She has limitations here. It can't be as dark as she'd possibly want. So the best thing she can do is give a somber/bittersweet ending.

My understanding is this concept is the editor's idea and he approached katsura ai with this idea in mind. This is his first manga editing and was a gravure spread editor first. He goes by Editor S and is anonymous. So, the editor may be as bad as Katsura and any fix may have to come from higher up than him, like Magapoke or Kodansha lead editors.

It's gotten about as dark as it could possibly get, my next breaking point is if they show romantic sex between fuckboi and Sakura that thats when we know it is truly over over. I know many will ask what's the difference at this point but, this is a pattern with Katsura where they really like to incorporate the psychological aspects: "sex without love, "love without sex".

My biggest hope is that Yuma ends up being unable to fulfill his "I will make Sakura happy" declaration he told Shinobu.

There's the physical aspect sure. But emotionally? We can only wait and see.
