It can matter, it'll probably have an affect of how the script turns out, as well as whether he accepts Fumi's confession or not. Since he was imagining Fumi while with Sakura I predict a rejection followed by Shinobu finishing the script basing it more on Sakura.
I don't think I agree; I think what matters most are Shinobu's feelings. As long as Shinobu still has Sakura in his mind, a reconciliation between Sakura and Shinobu is the most likely outcome. Until we see Shinobu forget about Sakura, we can't rule out that possibility

Well because its a romance themed movie I believe, and in the interest of saving time, especially if he rejects Fumi, the person he knows best is Sakura and he has feelings for her so its not hard to imagine it happening that way and I could see Fumi being fine with it too post rejection because she's also too nice of a girl and might realize that she fell in love with Shinobu because of seeing what he was willing to do for Sakura and that she'll never be able to replace Sakura.
It could be different for everyone but I think Emotion needs > Physical needs, that's also why some of us aren't convinced until we see more of where fuckboi and Sakura relationship status is at beyond the screwing.
