He mentioned that Grapara was initially slated for cancellation. So Airi Katsura (sensei) decided to end it in a somewhat spiteful and rushed manner with Sakura's separation in chapter 129. Then making it up to readers by the Fumi x Shinobu scenes for three chapters, followed by a time skip to wrap things up.

However, when pre-orders for volume 13 were poor, suggesting volume 14 (final) would likely fare just as badly, Kodansha stepped into emergency discussion and offered she a chance to turn things around. They decided to hold off on the cancellation to gauge the reaction. If the series showed promise, it would continue. If not, it would be cut later.

The first priority was to rehabilitate Sakura's image so the story can continue. Sakura must be single to join the love triangle.

For sure but its fiction in the end. Whatever KA wants to ultimately happen will happen whether it conforms to a normal logic or not. Fucboi got her body, but we haven't been shown if he's completely got her heart as well just yet, maybe withint the next 1~2 chapters. From what we've seen of her thoughts in this chapter though it's weird that she's thinking this way if she's happily dating fucboi.

I don't think this is the case if anything this chapter felt really condensed mainly because she now has to tell the story from two different perspectives now since shinobu and sakura no longer occupy one anothers worlds. Things will only get more convoluted from here with fumi and eventually fuckboi coming back. But she is most certainly running out of time.

Well, after some point in the story, everything moves in a sort of frictionless way. All the teachers help the MC, the prettiest girl falls for the MC, everybody slightly competent helps the MC, the ex's Mother disowns her because her daughter, a high-school girl, cheats on the MC, the political opponents of the fuccboi's father help the MC... Like i said, I would've like the story a bit more grounded.
