Only 20+ chapters to its a quick catchup, kinda freaky the childhood friend is a psycho, and blonde ikemen just appeared and has his sights on FMC (not the childhood friend) and looks to be working with the childhood friend because she wants the pathetic MC or some weird stuff like that. The refreshing part is that instead of stupidity the plot is driven by straight up malice/jealousy imo.

You are correct, for those who hate this type of stuff it is a pretty uncomfortable read because of how unhinged the character are, the malice woven into their actions, and how the plot is really just rigged against MC/FMC. Because the MC is kinda of hate-able (for me at least), I find myself twistedly able to enjoy the read. Like imagine people hate to read GraPara! and enjoy it because they hate Shinobu

I think that might be what the author intended with the Fumi kiss and she did a bad job at that
