This one's for the ShiFumi believers out there as we're approaching ch.136.

Fumi's reasons for what she's doing is pretty fair, she wants to replace Sakura in Shinobu's heart, and by breaking away from the script that he revised using Sakura's fawking PEN, her improv'ing here is essential to showing Shinobu that she has the guts+committment of a full-time actress and the willingness to do a sex scene for the sake of the movie and Shinobu thereby proving that she is better than Sakura (she won't leave him), implying that he should only look at her from now on. If Shinobu past his initial shocked reaction at the end of the chapter here can realize even some of this, then ShiFumi could be a comfortable conclusion.

Some of the issues remaining is the lack of communication (effectively deception levels) in the entire 1 month they had leading up to this moment, but Airi might just gloss over it if she wants to push the Fumi endgame and it's a nothingburger. This will likely mean that Sakura and Shinobu are not crossing paths again (maybe in an epilogue where it'll show them sync'ing thoughts again one last time just like in the beginning) as the final chapter becomes a showcase of each MC's steps towards their dreams separately and finding their own happiness again with their new partners...

Do note that none of this accounts for bs last minute twists, and other side character interventions (blonde, Mio, Nagi, Ryusei, Chico, Sakura's mom, Kazu).

Ultimately a bittersweet ending, not quite the usual rom-com ending you'd expect, but it will track with Airi's goals as a creator in the never-ending quest to create stories she believes aren't out there yet.

Edit: With this I am putting back on the ShiKura hoodie from now until 136 drops.

The possibility is there for sure, but I still find myself believing in a ShiKura ending!

Fumi will be a fine bittersweet ending for what it is and readers for the most part can still be happy with it if ShiFumi makes it across this final hurdle.

I feel like we can still get 1 meeting between Sakura and Shinobu that isn't relegated to some weak epilogue type.

Well I'm sure we will get a final meeting between the two I just doubt it will be meaningful or impactful it will happen way to late in the story to be done correctly you need at least a third of a chapter to convey there feeling right with the rest of the chapter showing the fallout from that meeting.

It will take a bag of tricks and a miracle that no one's expecting, plus some things being skipped over if they're lower on the priority list. It's a bit hard to say, not much else we can do but either get more nervous or resign ourselves to the feelings of doom and gloom.

I think the meeting can be a least at little more impactful than you'd expect.

I'm not dooming here just reading the signs and conforming my expectations with the reality of where the story is right now.

Not all NTR ends the same, the usual endings that people expect when they see "NTR" is certainly more common, but there are exceptions every now and then.

I do find it funny how they refer to GraPara! as the ultimate NTR rom-com, mostly because they still tack on the rom-com part that has been largely absent in the last 2 volumes outside of some nonsensical gags, and Fumi fanservice "lucky sukebe" moments.

GuraPara! Still has a small chance at carving out a different ending than from what everyone expects.

That's why I think what happened at the end of Chapter 135 was so pointless. If they really wanted Shinobu and Sakura's reunion to be the main focus of the finale, then the issues between Shinobu and Fumi, as well as the movie production, should have already been wrapped up in Chapter 135.

But Airi wrote Sakura so poorly that most readers seem to either barely care about her anymore or hate her even more every time she appears. That's probably why we ended up with this stupid Fumi drama, even though Shinobu and Fumi had been together for an entire month and had more than enough time to talk things through and resolve everything properly.

It's kind of funny when you think about it. The focus of the finale isn't even the reunion between the two main characters who spent over 100 chapters overcoming all kinds of obstacles together. Instead, it somehow ends up focusing on a conflict involving just one of the main characters that suddenly came out of nowhere and was rushed into the story.LoL

It's netorare it always ends one way or it's not really a netorare now is it. As for the rom-com aspects I agree they aren't really there most of the time netorare and rom-com are not really compatible all that well not impossible the manga with the guy who wants to be cucked is funny but that by no means takes itself seriously. Grapara dose and that's it's downfall.

I wouldn't say she wrote sakura poorly I would say she wrote sakura as being shallow her love for shionbu was shallow she has no resolve when it came to him and didn't seem to value him all that much. Granted she has to be written that way for the netorare to even work which is a great weakness to these types of stories. Otherwise it would take 200 chapters to show her downfall.

Hard agree. I still laugh at how we have over 100 chapters of the two going through a lot of things together. Yet a single misunderstanding is what made the fragile relationship shatter which already makes no sense when they resolved misunderstandings before.

"But muh NTR" needed to happen. I wouldn't have as much pity for Sakura as I do now if Sakura was taken to the Blondie's place instead. Sure have fuckboi kiss her anyway, it's not like Shinobu is the only man she's kissed.

But for it to conclude with the final volume having the two never meeting at all only to somehow save it for the finale with no resolution for the misunderstanding is just sad but not unexpected I guess. It's hard for any of us to predict the route this is going since Fumi pulled her stunt. Like others said this doesn't feel like a penultimate chapter at all.

At this point I'm still Shifumi, but also at a point where I don't care what kind of ending we get. I just want it to make sense and for Shinobu to not be suffering. This whole volume has no Rom-Com to it at all.

The worst part is that we could have had at least a hint of a romcom with Shifumi, but no, it seems that for Airi the best thing was to return to the ntr.
