That's the scariest part: by burning all this page count on artificial drama, the author backed the story into a corner where no outcome feels properly earned anymore.
If ShiFumi gets patched up, it feels hollow because of the forced regression. If it pivots to ShiKura, it feels completely unearned due to zero recent setup. And if Shinobu just ends up a lone director with two burned bridges, it’s not 'poetic tragedy'—it’s just bad pacing catching up with the story. We're essentially picking our favorite poison at this point.

You know the reason why I'm so confident in saying that shionbu and sakura won't even see one another again let alone get back together is that there stories are now two completely different stories heading for two different endings her scene while mostly glossed over was all done professionally we don't see much of it and she doesn't even take her bra off from what we do see. Then there is fuckboi he is sad about it but I didn't get the vibe he will leave her because of it especially with his personality shit sucker blonde wing man there to tell him how great he is and how much everything he dose just shows how much he loves sakura even though he admits he stole her lol. So in saying that he isn't leaving her she isn't going to leave him so there is nothing to show that sakura and shionbu will get back together at all. Arir is consistent in one thing she dose in fact set up what will happen between characters and she hasn't set up a shionbu/Sakura reunion at all so don't expect it I think the last chapter will focus on the fallout with fumi showing them parting ways so bullshit ending incoming.

Bringing readers back to the same feelings they had during Chapter 129—widely seen as the lowest point of the series—when there's only one chapter left isn't something I consider engaging. I think most readers are more likely to stop caring instead, especially after they already gave the series another chance from Chapter 130 onward.

When you pull the exact same miserable stunt twice, people don't get anxious for the finale—they just detach. Rebuilding goodwill from Chapter 130 onward only to torch it all in 135 didn't create hype; it just burned out the fanbase.

Making the MC and FMC avoid each other for 9 straight chapters across an entire volume right at the finish line is a bold strategy. If chapter 136 actually squeezes their reunion into a 2-panel afterthought, it will be the ultimate cherry on top of this disaster class in character writing.

That's the only contact between shinobu and Sakura for the whole volume but yes it's in 130 the volume starts at 128 and ends with 136.

Because it makes ever single moment between shinobu and Sakura ilrelivent after the fact then there is the fact you have to turn off both characters brains to make it work as well as bring sakura's character so far down it begs belief that she ever loved shinobu in the first place it was poorly paced instead of showing us Sakura slowly moving away from shionbu because he isn't taking care in their relationship it was portrayed as a misunderstanding that caused her to immediately run into another guys dick fuck him all night breakup over text move in with the guy and change agency's overnight over nothing when she herself did far worse ironically with no repercussions at all it was generic boring and forced plot convince.

When she lost that necklace fuckboi finds it for her, meanwhile Shinobu is waking up naked with Fumi and we get multiple instances were Sakura sees these signs that maker think he's cheating on her. She catches them together , he drops Fumi's handkerchief after going flaccid with Sakura, and he doesn't show up to support her. Then Fuckboi confesses to Sakura. That's not paced well enough? She catches Shinobu kissing Fumi and yeah even if it was a misunderstanding it was a misunderstanding on top of the neglection. She runs to fuckboi and even in this chapter Fuckboi points out that he wanted to make sure she became his that's why he rushed to fuck her. So idk what readers want more of.
I will say her throwing Shinobu under the bus and not talking to him was a dick move but I blame the cancellation so~

Dude the netorare made the entire romance aspect of the story pointless there was no point other than to set up the ntr. That took over a hundred chapters by itself. That didn't need to take as long as it did since now Arir is recycling plot elements from that to do the same with fumi breaking them apart most likely.

Sakura doesn’t want to let Shinobu explain what happened, instead she just runs to Yuma.

Shinobu refuses to open up to Fumi and Kaz (camera dude) about what happened between him and Sakura.

Fumi refuses to talk about her growing insecurities (which only started to appear last chapter how convenient)

She thinks he would’ve let Sakura shoot the scene (which is obviously bullshit let’s be honest)

I‘m supposed to believe these people are adults yet they behave like high schoolers in the body of adults.

The entire "elephant in the room" issue that was dragged out from Chapter 131 to 135 gets resolved in about three lines of dialogue. • Pages 7–11: The Token Sakura Reunion. After 6 straight chapters of Sakura and Shinobu having zero contact, Sakura finally pops back into the frame. Katsura Sensei will give them maybe 3 or 4 panels together just so readers can't technically say they were completely isolated for the entire final volume setup. It’ll be a rushed, high-speed conversation acknowledging their past, but with zero emotional weight.
• Pages 12–20: The "Fix Everything" Time-Skip. Because the present timeline is backed into a corner, we get a classic 3-to-5-year time-skip: Shinobu is now a successful director. All the professional growth we should have seen in real-time happens entirely off-screen. The romance gets slapped with a fast-forward band-aid. Either we get a wildly rushed "final choice" that feels completely unearned, or a vague, semi-open ending where Shinobu is just married to his career.

The Absolute Disaster "Bad Route" Scenario (Worst Case)

If you think things are bad now, here is how Sensei could drive this story completely off a cliff in 20 pages:

• Fumi Nuke (Pages 1–5): Instead of resolving the elephant in the room, Fumi's built-up insecurity explodes. Due to the total lack of communication, she breaks things off with Shinobu on the spot. Because Shinobu is still completely clueless, he just lets her walk away without fighting for it.
• The Whiplash Pivot (Pages 6–12): A confused, brooding Shinobu randomly bumps into Sakura for the first time in 6 chapters. Staring into the sunset, they have a forced, 3-page "epiphany" conversation where the story tries to convince us that Sakura was the real endgame all along—completely ignoring the zero buildup or setup for it in the past volume.
• The Bittersweet Cop-Out (Pages 13–20): Fast-forward a few years. Fumi is gone from their lives entirely, Shinobu is a director, and his relationship with Sakura is framed as this solemn, "we made it through the pain" dynamic.

Why this route would ruin the series:
It turns the entire final arc into a contest of who gets written into a corner first. Fumi gets reduced to a casualty of forced miscommunication, Sakura gets a hollow "win" with zero emotional foundation, and Shinobu comes out looking like an emotionally incompetent tool who just drifted into whoever was standing closest to him.

Bottom line:
Whether it's the standard cop-out or the absolute bad route, Chapter 136 is going to feel like an author trying to beat a deadline rather than delivering a satisfying conclusion. Prepare yourselves for maximum damage control.
