The author is failing to be very clear about that.

What I assume is:
At first, we had some issues what with her immediate traumatic experience + loss of her child to her in-laws.
But then, you have the extensive time they spend together, and added to that, how that time is in intense life-or-death scenarios. What with the two being efffective bachelors.... Well.... Feelings are bound to aflower.
And also, as she herself said in the pages here, she might die at any point, so I guess she's getting more inclined to the "live in the moment the best I can" mindset.

Then again, from what we can see...... It doesn't seem like Sophie is willing to be honest or deal with whatever those feelings are either? I mean, this chapter showed it in spades. She deniest and refuses at every turn. Not to the point she's willing to push him away and avoid those situations, but just so she doesn't have to recognize or admit them.

Could also argue that her actions is in answer to how he closes himself up on the topic too. He's even awkward and unconfortable on that front, it clearly shows on his body language, and that's also throws her off a lot. Again, we see this clearly in this chapter.

And honestly, this is the part that throws ME off. Like, I get he had that awkward thing with Yuzuha. And then he was shot in the balls, which, very traumatic. Are we supposed to take away that his whole equipment is non-functional now? Is that why he's so off about any prospect like that? Balls and dick are different things, so technically? I mean, if it was genitalia, ok, I could get it. But the whole thing feels very ambiguous right now.

Yo, @Gold_Scale sorry about @ you. But if anyone might be able to clear that up to me right now, it would be you. What was going on on chapter 43? Did they actually say balls? Was his dick shot off? Or are we all floating in an ambiguity sea right now?
