Thanks for updating!

Unpopular opinion and I might get pitchforked but even if we can understand her reasoning, it is still so completely selfish to ruin the lives of two people or more. Cornered rats are scary and I get it, but damn. What's she planning to do with that face at the end

She's surrendering, and telling Rachel her entire life story so that SOMEONE remembers who she was before she suffers Total Ego Death and entirely forgets her past name, life and love. She never wanted anything but to go the fuck home to Japan, and was desperate to do it before that happened- but now she realizes that there's absolutely no hope for her and no way out before she, for all intents and purposes, dies, so she's clearing the air before The Girl From Japan dies and only This World's Anna is left.

It would really suck to be one of the strawman stock trope hero/saint characters in one of these “actually the villainess is good”/“actually I’m the strongest” stories. Might be an interesting premise. Although the trope role subversion is more common than the tropes they were subverting at this point..

I am so glad to be one of these people that like spoilers, from reading previous chapters I know of the general plot's direction but watching it all unfold is still a spectacular endeavor! Thank you all.

It's really weird pinballing back and forth between this series and the alternate version where Anna is the main character. Sometimes I forget what's happened in which version and what we are or aren't supposed to know in each one.

It’s not even really a “actually the villainess is good“ story so much as a “actually the villainess is an actual villainess who did attack the saint but she suffered for it so is now trying to be good after regressing.” story.

Are the two plotlines connected at all? Other than sharing the world and setting.

Yeah no. Her fate is scary, but that doesn't mean she gets to take it out on everyone else.
The issue with Anna, is that her motivations are purely selfish. She is treating everyone around her as game-characters, not actual humans. She is giving no care or thought to how much havoc she is causing by doing this. All she is thinking of is me me me.

What she's doing, is not right. Yes. She's in a scary situation and is suffering, but that does not give her the right to ruin the lives of others in an attempt to circumvent her fate. If I was Anna, I would accept it, find solace in talking with people, write down my story and thats that.
Her actions in deciding SHE is more important than the lives and happiness of other people, makes her unsymphatetic.
The writer royally ruined any chance for Anna to be symphatetic in making her totally happy to ruin the FMC and the Prince's life here.
Keep in mind this is a world with magic. Yet the ONLY thing she could think about was "well I'll just fuck over these two people- Oh the prince doesn't love me? Well sucks to be him, we're getting married against his will if need be."

Like I get its SUPPOSED to be symphatetic and why. But its not.
If the writer WANTED to make her symphatetic, we would have to see some effort from her part to figure other options out. Talk to people. Research. Not once have we been told she CAN'T tell her situation to others. Not even a random sidesentence about how "they'll think I'm nuts!" Nothing. Its just as if she cares not for anyone else's life but her own. Ew.
