From what I remember being told out of the LN/WN spoilers, yes he is. I don't know if it ever explains how or when he reincarnated or how time works between the dimensions since Makoto presumably wasn't dead when Anna's original identity died/transmigrated and yet Samuel is obviously older than Anna.

I haven't read the main story, but this side story is interesting. I guess it's like the pov of the original game heroine instead of the villainess.

Judging by the comments, it seems like the main story is less fluffy than this.
I guess I'll try to not read the main story yet to give a different pov.

I have a theory of the timelines that may make sense for everyone.
I think Rachel past memories are not from the past timeline (which I think is) but memories of what happens in the game.
Because it seems like Rachel doesn’t remember having nice conversations with Anna or that she was a decent person. That would make sense because this timeline Rachel seems very similar to the future timeline. And would make sense of the inconsistencies because what she remembers didn’t actually happen in the past but just from games story.

And I guess Anna was the Japanese girl first. And is living this timeline 2nd but doesn’t really remember her life in Japan and the third timeline she remembers her Japanese life but not the 2nd timeline.
So both Anna and Rachel’s memories are being messed with for some reason.

Okay, that would make sense, but I don't like it. 😅

I was wondering if this was maybe a composite timeline, or if the same thing that caused Rachael-sama to rewind time is also at work after the second rewind happened, but...



Thing is, I remember the scene of them talking politely on a bench in Rachael-sama's second loop, and she thought about how they had never done that the first time through... but she has mana, her water-puppy, and The Saint is being Saint Anna with no reincarnator issues!

So, I was kind of thinking that this might be an entirely separate timeline, or even a different multiverse, like how Marvel has "Ultimate" versions of their characters.

Because Rachael has been doing things from her second loop, but the MC of this story, Anna, has memories and isn't shitty, so...

I mean, I could be wrong, but there are inconsistencies that at least suggest the possibility.

OOf, no wonder she grows bitter in the next loop. Rachel doesn't know it, but she ended up taking everyone from Anna. She usurped her position from the first go around, leaving Anna friendless and alone.



Poor Anna is just a victim, in so many ways. Another victim of the scheming snake.
