Dang Mitsushima's plan did everything right but he got unlucky! My first reaction was that Ao's mother killing herself seems convenient, but then again, by this point she;'s just been told that Akane has committed suicide and Ao has been caught red handed committing murder and Ao's declared his mum dead to him, so it makes sense she might kill herself then.
