Another boohoo I got betrayed I’m gonna do my own edgy thing
The pacing is a little all over the place, betrayed, why, how did he survive, why is betrayer still not after him, just settling for telling liesArt and translation is great, everything else is complete trash. It would’ve been mid at best if it wasn’t so disgustingly rushed, but even that’s being somewhat generous. A good manga adaptation from LN means that both new readers and LN readers would be catered to, yet I doubt even the LN readers would’ve been satisfied with the adaptation because of the pacing.
Well to be fair after being stabbed in the back literally and everyone talking behind your back, trust issues and thinking about yourself isn't to surprisingAh yes, another isekai mean guy story.
That's a good way of describing it, I wouldn't mind a skip with just a paragraph explaining the betrayal, but don't go into it if you not going to explain it properlyTo be fair the first chapters of an isekai can rightfully be skipped because it's just """"""groundwork"""""" that we've seen time and time again. Guy gets transferred to another world, gets some powers, but then betrayed by a trusted ally, then develops trust issues. Been there, done that, at least like, 5 times already.
But you either tell it all or skip them all. This one sort of tells half of the story then just does a poorly portrayed timeskip. Yeesh.
Not the most ideal as it creates a confusion for readers, but I'm willing to stick it out and see where it goesFor those wondering, it seems the "missing parts" will be shown in later chapters through fragmented flashbacks.
The issue is that the story started way before the betrayal. This sets up an expectation that the first chapter would immediately explain why and how it happened.I didn't find it hard to follow, and filling in backstory with flashbacks is perfectly legitimate.
