What a childish take about being an "adventurer". Feels like told from a perspective of a child or a guy in his 40's who decided to turn his life upside down, by buying a "harley" and a leather jacket. That guy in question was always calm a geeky.
Why childish? Adventuring for the most part is a risky endeavor that might cripple you or end your life, usually taken by desperate people who want elevate from being poor OR as our MC WAS sons who don't inherit. In medieval times some children became knights or mercenaries to rise up.
Counts, Dukes and up the ladder rarely participated directly in battles or in any endeavor that could endanger their life because:
1) They have a land and a household to maintain and defend
2) They have already achieved sufficient affluence not to risk their lifes or accumulate unneeded stress
If you meet adults like our MC be mindful that they likely have a "Peter Pan syndrome" or midlife crisis.
