Kat had me wanting to drop the series as she is that annoying as her personality has no redeeming qualities as Eru kinda nailed why i dislike her but later on they mentioned Elise "being there" so maybe Kat is not all that bad as she does have a personality as "Wife" number 1 is just there with all the depth of a cardboard cutout

Someone should give her a heads-up noting that she will need both achievements and connections to get anywhere in the society. After all, status is given by others, unless she claims a domain in no-man's-land out there, assuming there is some available, and builds her own country.

She will gain nothing from pleasing those who are against her on principle, but she certainly shouldn't want to turn the neutral ones against her. If she has too many enemies, they will try to negate even her legit achievements. Then the lack of allies would ensure nobody would bother to correct the injustice.

Considering she has plenty of ambition and is willing to work for it, she could be a good employee in a position of authority, especially if arrogance, recklessness, and stubbornness can be removed from her personality.

For anyone who thinks that she is trying to do achieve her family greatness by herself and etc...
1) She knows she can't inherit the land
2) She antagonized MC <- What is that? It's actually a classical move to enchant or leave an impression on stupid men
3) She needs a man, she refused previously because they didn't have enough potential or wanted to suck on her success. MC on the other hand showed potential at a very young age it won't be surprising that he would earn the title of a Duke. Thus she employed tactic at the point #2.
4) She asserted her high nobility status to seem highly sought after.

Either author is dumb POS who writes scripts from the guidebook not knowing the depth of the iceberg or he is actually smart enough to deploy it and give us readers a chance to deduce her actions.
In short her actions are calculating. She took MC's attention by being insufferable, then cozied up to him with food (old tale about how a man's heart is in his stomach) and managed to guilt him into taking him into party. Now she opened a position to further her trying to seduce him.

I'm not reading between words or sentences, just piecing up together what author provided to us and just applied real world lense to it, where bunch of people especially who are or were or plan to be in high positions are calculating and tend to play the long game.
